Cricket Coaching for Newcomer Kids — Longsight
Free Saturday cricket coaching at Longsight community ground for boys and girls aged 8–14 from recently-arrived Pakistani families. Volunteer coaches, club-loaned kit, and a pathway into Lancashire ECB youth leagues for those who progress. Lunch provided. No experience needed.
Rusholme Curry Mile Heritage Walk
Monthly free walking tour of Manchester's historic Curry Mile, tracing 60 years of Pakistani settlement from the first kebab houses to today's rebrand. Stops include heritage plaques, surviving family-owned restaurants, and the original textile mills where early migrants worked. Great for newcomers, students, and visiting family. Ends with chai at a community-owned café.
Free Tutoring for GCSE Students — Cheetham Hill
Weekly free GCSE tutoring (Maths, English, Science) for Pakistani-heritage students in Cheetham Hill, Crumpsall, and Harpurhey. Tutors are local university students and recent graduates. Small groups of 3–5 students. Particular focus on first-generation university-bound kids.
Pakistani Women's Cycling Group — Platt Fields
Beginner-friendly women-only cycling sessions at Platt Fields Park every Sunday morning. Bikes provided. Coaches from the local Pakistani community, modest-dress friendly, and built around social loops rather than fitness pressure. Open to all skill levels including absolute first-timers.
Funeral Support Network — Greater Manchester
Discreet, dignified mutual aid for Pakistani families in Greater Manchester dealing with bereavement. We coordinate ghusl arrangements, translation help with hospitals and registrars, transport for elderly relatives, and meal-delivery rotas during the mourning period. On-call WhatsApp group, 24/7.
NICOP Document Pickup Rota — Rochdale
Volunteer-run rota that picks up completed NICOP and passport documents from Manchester and Bradford NADRA centres on behalf of Rochdale-based applicants who can't take time off work. Verified handovers, photo proof, and a WhatsApp tracking thread per request.
